Tim Putnam is a fine art landscape photographer based in Franklin, TN. His work expresses loneliness, stillness, and mystery that acknowledges our ephemeral nature. His inspiration ranges from photographers Sally Mann and Jack Spencer to impressionist painters Claude Monet and Edgar Degas, to poets Rainer Marie Rilke and e.e. cummings. He uses time-lapse and soft-focus techniques in-camera and mixed media including oil paint, oleopasto, and sandpaper in his original artwork to achieve a depth, texture, and connection to the work.

His landscape photographs explore the contrast of mountains and valleys, land and water, strength and vulnerability. “There is something I connect with when I am confronting an enormous space. There is a stillness and humility I try to capture which is in direct contrast with the grandeur in the frame.”

Throughout his life, he has used music, photography, and digital marketing to tell stories. His songs have been used by artists such as Eli Young Band and Michael W. Smith, as well as in TV/film placements such as J.J. Abrams’ Felicity. His short story, "The River" was featured in A Guitar and a Pen: Stories by Country Music's Greatest Songwriters, alongside iconic legends like Kris Kristofferson, Janis Ian, and Bobby Braddock. He has spent the past two decades conceiving and directing online campaigns for clients which include Kelly Clarkson and Lady Antebellum, as well as advising and executing digital and social ad campaigns with Nike, Nissan, Toyota, Procter & Gamble, and many other Fortune 500 brands.
